Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC):
Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) in Villa Marie promotes to develop an institutional mechanism to create entrepreneurial culture among students and to foster techno-entrepreneurship for generation of ideas and innovation and employment.
The college has collaborated with T-HUB to leverage the ideas to business models by introducing an initiative called Launchpad to foster the ideas among budding entrepreneurs. The Ignitor’s Club of Villa Marie is a wing of EDC
Interaction between educational institutions and industry will have great bearing on the under- graduate curriculum granting exposure of students to industry culture. The requisite to industry interaction is to create avenues for a close academia and industry interaction through all the phases of technology development, starting from conceptualizing to commercialization. Entrepreneurship Development Centre is established at Villa Marie with the following objectives:
- To cultivate the collaboration with industry
- To promote various industrial activities by the faculty and students
- To have an active linkage and promote research suited to industry needs, and consultancy
- To provide educational resources to students so that they can upgrade their technical knowledge, and / or obtain higher degrees
- To catalyse the further growth and development of interaction between the Institute and Industry
- To bring about Memoranda of Understanding and Agreements with various industrial and research organizations
